Topic: Qualification and testing of a sensor system solution for needs-based fertilization in the agricultural and food industry

The aim of the project is an Agricultural Intelligent Sensor System (AlSS) portal for connecting agricultural sensor systems. The portal provides secure client and cloud software modules for managing, synchronizing, preparing, networking and billing agricultural analysis data. Onsite sensors and edge systems prepare data on site and transmit it to the AISS. These are accepted, assigned and processed. Using KJ and laboratory connections, for example, spectral data can be further processed and returned to produce numerical and verbal statements on the status of the measurements and for monitoring the applied organic substances. Customers are agricultural laboratories, manufacturers of manure technology and agricultural cooperatives, which use fertilizer data from the cultivated fields in a manufacturer-neutral manner. Great importance is placed on observing data protection. Web interfaces for data transfer with existing systems ensure over-the-air updates, communication between components and the connection of external IT systems. An important part of the project are needs-based billing methods for this topic.

SDNORD would like to make a contribution to relieving the burden on the environment and solving the diffuse nutrient input into agricultural areas in Germany.

Topic: Real-time capable sensor system for needs-based fertilization in agriculture

Results: A reference database for manure samples with nutrient values and NIR spectra was set up using the data provided by the project partner LUFA Nord-West. The iDent database contained the wet chemical analysis results of over 1300 manure samples, each with 3 associated NIR spectra as reference data. This reference data can be used in other software components, e.g. for AI applications and the development of calibration models for nutrient prediction, by using a web interface. To manage the data, a web frontend was developed as a Blazor web application with various functions.

To document the NIR measurement of a manure sample, a delivery note can be generated in the iDent portal. In addition to the type of manure, this also contains the nutrient values for ammonium, potassium, phosphate, nitrogen and dry matter determined by the NIR sensors.
